Indestructible shoes review
If you’ve been on social media lately, you’ve probably seen Indestructible Shoes all over! The company has invested heavily in advertising to promote their new product, but do they live up the hype?
The “hype” is that these shoes are light in weight and breathable, but that they also have a steel toe and puncture proof sole. This makes them ideal for a variety of work situations, including law enforcement, the military, construction, etc. They even say that they’re ideal for working out or for outdoor activities.
Combine that with the very reasonable price, and it seems like Indestructible work shoes might be a winner. But, keep on reading for all the details you need to know including the pros and cons in this handy buyer’s guide.
An Introduction to Indestructible Shoes
This company has set out to do work shoes differently. That is, they’ve taken all the usual safety features such as a steel toe and puncture proof sole but put them into a lighter, more flexible and breathable shoe that almost resembles a running shoe. This can make them ideal for a number of jobs where you want to keep your feet safe, but you don’t want them to suffer when you’re on your feet for a long shift!
Although slight heavier than regular running shoes, they are indeed comfortable to wear if our tests are any indication. We wore these things around town and when doing things like mowing the lawn, working in the shed, gardening, etc. and found that they were indeed comfortable to wear from the first time. Plus, our feet didn’t get all hot and sweaty, which is quite the opposite experience from most shoes with these safety features.
That said, we didn’t put them to a serious test in terms of safety. Check out the videos below as others have already covered that and it seems like these shoes perform well enough in that aspect.

What do People Think About Indestructible Work Shoes?
There is an interesting thread over on Reddit that has both some very positive as well as very negative reviews. Mostly people are saying that the shoes aren’t quite as puncture proof and strong as the company claims and also that shipping takes a while.
On the positive side though, people mention that these shoes are very light in weight, already broken in, are flexible and breathable too. This makes them quite comfortable to wear, even from the first time which is change compared to much heavier work boots.

The Takeaway on Indestructible Shoes
Overall, there are a few small issues with these shoes. The first one is that they may not be as strong as the company claims they to be. However, the tests done by people on YouTube are a little bit extreme. After all, once you got hit with a sledgehammer once on the toe, you wouldn’t keep banging away at it over and over and over again! You’d stop after the first time and this shoe does well enough at protecting against this.
The sole of the shoe does a good enough job at slowing and in some cases, stopping a nail from going through it. Again, you would feel some resistance and stop, instead of pushing down on the nail with all of your force in order to try to puncture the shoe.
In our opinion, the shoe performs well enough at standing up to these tests.
The other issue is shipping which can take a couple of weeks according to customer reports. However, this isn’t a significant issue for us and not a reason to look elsewhere.
What the company does have going for it are some comfortable, breathable, flexible work shoes that have a ton of safety features. Combine that with a super reasonable price, in some cases 1/3 or 1/2 of what you’d pay for normal work shoes and it’s clear that they’re a great deal.

Are these Shoes Ideal for CrossFit or Working Out?
A common question that people have about these shoes is whether or not they’ve ideal for CrossFit, other kinds of workouts or outdoor activities. In reality, they’re more of a work and safety shoe than they are a fitness one. Although they’re light and flexible, they are not as light and flexible as you’d want. Plus, they don’t really have enough shock absorption or cushioning as you’d want for a serious run, jumping rope or a HIIT workout for example.
