Life Before CrossFit
Before Kristi Eramo became a popular CrossFit athlete, she was already a notable swimmer and endurance athlete. She finished 7th in her age group at the 2011 USA Age Group National Championship Olympic Distance triathlon. Kristi also joined the New York and Boston marathon. She was already working as an accountant when she started CrossFit in 2014. At this time, she was looking for something new.

She went on to qualify for the CrossFit Games in 2017 and 2018. While she qualified for the 2019 CrossFit, she declined to join the event since she wanted to take a step back and let the body heal. Moreover, she had a longer than usual offseason in 2019 since she got married in February of the same year.

CrossFit Games Results
Even before Kristi Eramo started with the fitness regimen, she was already an accomplished swimmer and endurance athlete. She made her first appearance in a CrossFit competition in 2014 when she placed 16th overall in the individual women competition of the Central East regionals. She improved her finish a year later after copping 10th place in the same division of the competition.
But 2016 was her year as she qualified for the CrossFit Games for the first time. It was also her best finish in the games as she placed 8th overall in the individual women division, which was the best for a rookie in her division. Kristi qualified for the 2017 and 2018 editions of the CrossFit Games copping 13th and 9th place, respectively. She opted to forgo joining the 2019 CrossFit Games even though she qualified for it. She is expected to pick up from where she left off in the 2020 season of the games.

You should enjoy your experiences while going through the process.

For people looking to join CrossFit, Kristi is advising them to play other sports. They should enjoy these sports before they take up the training regimen. It is important for them to give their bodies some time to develop. Her background in swimming and endurance sports has allowed Kristi to cop the best result for a female rookie when she joined the CrossFit Games in 2016.
Kristi Eramo‘s Diet
The diet of Kristi Eramo focuses mainly on eating unprocessed food. She also limits her liquid intake to water or tea. Most of the time, Kristi cooks her own food. Despite following this basic diet, she also has some cheat days once in a while. For Kristi, this is a part of life and balance is important to be happy and attain long-term progress.
She adds that following strict diets may allow you to progress, but it will not give you the fulfillment you are looking for. Kristi also takes supplements, including magnesium and tea extract. But if she is not competing, she will fast for one day in a month. At this time, she will not eat and will only drink water.
Training Day of Kristi Eramo
Kristi Eramo trains six times a week with each session lasting up to three hours. She focuses on increasing her endurance and strength. With the length and intensity of her training, Kristi opts out of standard cardio sessions. She uses a structured training program since she is a CrossFit athlete. The program works on her endurance and strength. The intensity of the program allows her to build her muscles even though it does not focus on muscle growth. The program allowed her to achieve several personal records as a CrossFit athlete.
Her endurance training program involves five sets of 12 to 16 repetitions of squats, snatches, deadlifts, clean & jerk, bench presses, and pull-ups. On the other hand, when she wants to focus on increasing her strength, she will perform five sets of 5 repetitions of squats, snatches, deadlifts, clean & jerk, bench presses, and pull-ups.
