Puma Cell Riaze Review
What Do People Think About Them?
“I wear them to work all day (I’m an ER doctor) because I’m on my feet literally all day. They are very comfortable, reasonably priced and look decent too.”
“I got these to use for my gym workouts because I didn’t want to wear out my very expensive running shoes. They have some nice cushioning and support, especially for lateral movements. They are stable enough to lift weights in as well. Overall, I’m very happy to have found an affordable training shoe.”
“I have low arches and some heel problems (plantar fasciitis) so have to be careful about what I put on my feet. These are very comfortable and I use them almost every single time I leave my house.”
“I have a couple of middle school kids and these are my gym shoes of choice for them. The price is certainly right, and they’re fashionable enough that they don’t complain about them! There are also a nice variety of colour options.”

Ideal for Gym Workouts
If you’re looking for a pair of shoes that’ll work for serious running or weightlifting, these ones are probably not right for you. They don’t offer enough cushioning and stability for running, and enough support for lifting. You can check out our top running shoes here, along with lifting shoes.
However, if you want a pair of shoes for walking around town, sports with the kids, Zumba classes, or gym workouts, then these are a nice, stylish option.
What about for CrossFit workouts? They make a decent choice, although we’d probably recommend spending a bit more money on sneakers that will be more durable. For example, many people are very happy with the Reebok Nano Series or Nike Metcons.

Is the Puma Cell Riaze Ideal for CrossFit?
That’s a great question and we’re happy that you asked! If you take a look around during your next WOD, or ask your trainer, you’ll probably find that there are a ton of different choice for what to wear on your feet during a CrossFit workout. You can see everything from weightlifting shoes to minimal or barefoot shoes.
Of course, most people stick with cross trainers like these ones, or specialized CrossFit shoes like the Reebok Nano 8 or Nobulls. During this kind of workout, you may encounter sprinting, jumping, rope climbing, and of course lifting. You’ll want a versatile shoe that can handle whatever you throw at it.
Does the Puma Women’s Cell Riaze stand up to the rest? Overall, it’s a decent pick. It’s durable and sturdy enough to handle the lifting, while being light and flexible to do a decent job at the sprints and jumps.
However, you may want to consider one of these more specialized CrossFit shoes in the chart below. You’ll find that they are more durable if you’re going to be climbing a lot of ropes, and also more stable for weightlifting.

What about the Puma Women’s Cell Riaze Cross-Training Shoe for Running?
If you’re looking for a pair of shoes to run your next marathon in, these ones probably aren’t it. While they can handle some cardio, sprints and running around with your kids, they are not designed for serious runs.
First of all, they don’t have a high enough heel toe drop. You’ll want to look for some that are closer to 10 mm so that your feet will transfer energy from stride to stride.
Secondly, they are not really flexible enough and you’ll find that your feet are pretty fatigued by the end of a long run in them. If you’re a serious runner (or want to be!), then you’ll need to check out these top recommendations: The Top Running Shoes.
