What do People Think about the Adidas Crazy Power Trainer?

—>Read More User Reviews on Amazon<—

“The ideal shoe for any sort of HIIT or CrossFit workout. They are low in profile and have a ton of support for heavy lifting, including squats and deadlifts. Sure, you wouldn’t want to run more than a minute or two in them, but they’re really not designed for that. As far as box jumps and rope climbing go, they do a decent enough job.”

“I was looking for a bodybuilding shoe that I didn’t have to drop a couple hundred bucks on and ran across these. So, so, so much better than the running shoes I was using. They’re a lot flatter and grippier, plus the roomy toe box allows me to get way better grip with the ground. Personal bests: here I come!”

“A flat, hard shoe that has a bit of ankle support and isn’t flexible. It’s ideal for lifting to say the least. It does less well at things like sprints or jumps, but it’s similar to the Nano 9 or Metcon 4 for example in that regard.”

Are the CrazyPower Trainer Shoes Ideal for CrossFit?

If you take a look around your CrossFit box, or ask your trainer, you’ll find that there are a ton of options for CrossFit shoes. You might see anything from barefoot shoes to weightlifting shoes like these ones.

That said, most people stick with specialized CrossFit shoes, or cross trainers. That’s because you might encounter just about anything during a WOD from running to jumping, lifting and climbing. Seriously, almost anything. So, you’ll want a shoe that’s up to the challenge.

Does the Crazy Power TR meet the challenge? Yes, it’s certainly a nice CrossFit shoe to consider if your workouts are heavy on the weights. However, if your workouts are heavier on the running than lifting, you’ll probably be pretty uncomfortable in these and would do well to consider the lighter and more flexible Reebok CrossFit Sprint for example or the Nike Free X Metcon.

Or, check out this comparison chart with some of our favourite CrossFit shoes to consider:

If you’re looking to get into some serious weightlifting or bodybuilding, then you’d do well to consider a pair of specialized lifting shoes. They have a ton of support, a roomy toe box, grippy sole and a low profile. What does all this mean? The good news is that you won’t be worried about what you have on your feet when you’re going for your personal best!

Here are some of our top picks: Top 5 Weightlifting Shoes.  You may also want to consider the Adidas Powerlift or the Adidas Power Perfect if you’re looking to stick with this same brand. They are a bit more robust than the CrazyPower TR and includes a strap across the midfoot which give you a ton of support and stability.
