Team CrossFit Mayhem Freedom is from Cookeville, Tennessee. They are the winners of the Affiliate Cup Championship at the 2018 Reebok CrossFit Games. That was their third win in four years. On their team they also have Rich Froning, who’s one of the legendary athletes in CrossFit in our time.
Rich Froning won the CrossFit games for four consecutive years from 2011 to 2014. He then joined his team and then smashed it with the first win in 2015. But he didn’t stop it there; he continued through to win the next year again in 2016. In 2017 CrossFit they were “runners up,” and in 2018 they gained the title back again. Such amazing achievements from the team, we are all proud being a part of.
Who is CrossFit Mayhem?
CrossFit Mayhem is a team built up from many individuals from very different backgrounds. They mostly came from high-performance sport backgrounds and were all focused on the sports that we came from. Rich Froning is the creator of the group. Guidelines for the number of team members and the sex of the members have changed over the years. Since the 2018 CrossFit Games, it is required to have four members participating, two Men and two women on each team.
They team has had few adjustments over the years with the number of people per team changing and other modifications. But mostly it has been very stable when it comes to their core members.

MEET THE CROSSFIT MAYHEM FREEDOM TEAM
There are a number of key members of the mayhem freedom team. Here is some information about them.
He is the founder of the team and a CrossFit legend who has done very well. In addition, he has won individual titles numerous times. He had only one intention in his mind, and that was the intention to win, and he did so.
Rich Froning has an unbelievable mind, and when he puts his mind to something, he makes sure that he tries his best to achieve it, and brings this attitude in our team and the competitive spirit. He doesn’t have a trainer, he doesn’t have a nutritionist. Froning just does things himself. He has a goal in mind, and he does it. Rich Froning, AKA the Fittest man in the world.
Matt Hewett has been on the team since 2015, he has impressive stats and has always been here for the team, a great player and person.
Tasia Is a great athlete, she was 15th in the women’s games in 2016 and considering that she started CrossFit in 2013 that is a fantastic achievement. In 3 years, she was able to place 15th shows how much ambition she has and that she is full of dedication. She was part of the team and helped CrossFit Mayhem get 1st place in 2018.
Member of the team Crossfit Mayhem since 2017. That year when the team scored 2nd and then in 2018 when the team accomplished the number one spot. He is young (25) and he has a lot in front of him. He is a student but trains with the team regularly. Finally, he also has a great national ranking.
Dre Strohm is studying to get a degree in graphic design and is the Media Director at CrossFit Mayhem. He is always ready for a challenge, and he is still motivated and focused on his goals. Dre Strohm is also a super photographer, a man of many talents.
Chyna Cho a new addition to the team is a brilliant sportswoman. Previously won the title of the 6th fittest woman in the world during the CrossFit games in 2016.
Although no longer part of the team she was present during the first years of CrossFit Mayhem. She was into sports all her life and still today nothing has changed. She stopped as she moved away from town and to focus on her business.
Asia CrossFit Championships
Here is a behind the scenes preview of the Asia CrossFit Championships, that they won back in April 2019. It was a fantastic experience with the whole team together. They worked hard, and trained hard for it. Winning this qualified them for the 2019 CrossFit games. And we will be heading there next year.
The Team’s Future Plans in Crossfit
Nothing is in their mindset other than to win. They train hard, and we are going to continue to do so till the end. The new regulations of the CrossFit Reebok championship is that now it is possible to have people join the team even if they are not from the same CrossFit affiliate.
This brings individual players to come together as a “super” team. But they don’t see them as a threat, but as an advantage. They train together every week, and they know how each one of us walks, does a pull-up, or lunges.
They also know their capacities, weaknesses and team rhythm. Finally, they pull each other up and support each other morally. This is something that other people from around the globe can’t have in only a few training sessions. We are a great team, and we will use it to our advantage.
Taking home victory from the first position from the Asia CrossFit Championship secures them a place in the 2019 CrossFit championships. They have the following line up: Rich Froning, Chyna Cho, Tasia Percevecz, and Dre Strohm (with alternates, Ben Smith and Haley Adams). It is not going to be easy as there are many changes. But they are incredibly dedicated, and we have been working for this day.
